Can Cau market

Can Cau open-air market opens every Saturday from 6 am to midday. It is set 20 km from Bac Ha, surrounded by fields of rice and corn. Visitors come here to contemplate a lively market of colorful minorities’ costume, textile products, fresh farm produce and taste the original specialties.



Different groups of Hmong villages at high altitude down to the market to sell their produce and buy fabrics and agricultural utensils and kitchen. This is because they wear colorful costumes and embroidered as the Hmong in the region have been dubbed the "Flower Hmong" by the Chinese, French and Vietnamese. The Hmong use the horse as the main transport because it is the only effective way in these regions to carry heavy loads.
